Upload Guidelines

Rights first

Upload only audio you created, audio covered by a license that allows your contribution, or audio for which you have direct authorization. Do not assume that a short clip, meme, movie quote, game sound or song excerpt is automatically free to redistribute.

Trim before upload

The DYLIP uploader lets you select the useful segment in your browser. Only the final trimmed clip should be sent to DYLIP. Keep the clip focused and accurately describe what it contains.

Metadata

Use descriptive titles and tags. Do not impersonate a rights holder, add misleading license claims, or use unrelated keywords. Include source and attribution information when the applicable license requires it.

Moderation

Valid uploads publish after automatic checks. Repeated duplicate submissions, invalid files or upload-limit violations route subsequent uploads to admin review. Technical publication failures also remain in review. Automatic publication does not verify ownership or grant additional rights.

Uploads can be rejected for duplicate content, broken audio, poor metadata, rights uncertainty or policy issues. Published material may later be restricted if new rights information or reports are received.
